Christmas holidays for singles have grown into one of the busiest parts of the solo travel year. Some people go to dodge a quiet house, some because work only lets them off at Christmas, and plenty just fancy celebrating somewhere new. Whatever the reason, the solo specialists put on a proper festive programme with a host, set meals and your own room.
Every trip below was on sale when we checked in October 2026, and prices are the “from” figures the companies showed at the time.

Why spend Christmas on a solo trip?
Christmas can be a hard time to be on your own. Every advert shows a crowded dinner table, and friends are tied up with their own families. A group trip turns that round: you get the turkey, the crackers and the party, with people in exactly the same boat.
It’s also easy.
There’s no shopping, cooking or washing up. A tour leader or host plans the festive programme, so all you need to do is turn up, join in as much as you like and slip off for a walk when you want some peace. On a winter sun trip you can even swap the frost for sunshine and relax on a beach, and most of the solo travellers you’ll meet have done exactly that before.
Where can you go on Christmas holidays for singles this year?
There are four main styles of festive solo trip, from a country hotel near home to a guided tour of a far-off destination. Here’s what’s on sale for December 2026, with the experience each one gives you.
UK Christmas house parties (24 to 27 December)
The cheapest and simplest choice. You drive or take the train to a hotel, the solo company takes over part of it (or all of it) and the festive programme runs from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day.
- Friendship Travel, Christmas in Coventry: two nights from £495 or three from £660, arriving 24 December at the DoubleTree by Hilton. Christmas Eve buffet and disco, a carvery Christmas lunch, a walk and a quiz, a Boxing Day gala dinner, and a double or twin room for sole use.
- Solos, Christmas in Northamptonshire: 24 to 27 December from £799 at Delta Hotels by Marriott Northampton, with Christmas lunch, afternoon tea every day, dinner dances and a Boxing Day pantomime trip. The whole hotel is booked for Solos guests.
- Just You, Christmas in Chester: five days from £1,549 (land only) at the DoubleTree by Hilton Chester from 23 December, with Christmas Day lunch and afternoon tea in Llandudno on Boxing Day.
- GoSingles: a UK Christmas break from £795 and a Twixmas break for over 50s from £269.

A UK Christmas with your own room
Just You runs festive breaks in Chester, Bath, Brighton, Harrogate, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. Everyone on them is travelling solo.
Christmas markets in Europe
Short flights, cold air and twinkling stalls, and with luck a little snow, though the weather never promises it. Just You’s Christmas in Vienna runs six days from £2,499 with flights, departing 23 December, with Christmas Eve at the Schönbrunn Palace market and five dinners included. It’s a guided city tour at a leisurely pace, so there’s time to explore the markets on your own too. Prague is six days from £1,999, and there’s a four-day Prague Christmas Market Break from £1,199. Budapest and Croatia are on the list too.

Winter sun over Christmas
Swap the drizzle for a terrace in the winter sun. These are the trips where a walk on the beach comes before Christmas dinner.
Just You’s Christmas in Malta is six days from £1,849 with flights from London Heathrow, leaving 22 December, based at the 4-star AX Odycy Hotel in Qawra with a Christmas Day buffet lunch, a Valletta city tour, a Grand Harbour cruise and an optional excursion to the island of Gozo for £85. Over in Spain, its Andalucia at Christmas trip is eight days in Mijas from £2,049 from 21 December, with moderate walking, with a Christmas Day dinner, a flamenco show and optional trips to Gibraltar and the Alhambra. Friendship Travel has hosted Christmas weeks at the Aquamare Hotel in Paphos, the H10 Lanzarote Princess in the Canary Islands and its Casa Rosa house party in Olhão, Portugal.
Long haul Christmas adventures
Fancy Petra on Christmas Day? Just You’s Jordan trip runs eight days from £3,149, and Spirit of India at Christmas is 13 days from £3,949. Friendship Travel lists a Cairo and Nile cruise and a Caribbean cruise from Barbados over the festive period, and Solos has a China and Harbin Ice Festival trip.

New Year for solo travellers
If Christmas is family time but New Year’s Eve feels lonely, book that instead. Just You’s New Year on the Lisbon Coast is five days from £1,799, leaving 29 December, based at the Vila Galé Ericeira by the Atlantic with a Lisbon tour and the group seeing the new year in together. New Year in York is four days from £1,399.
Want both? Good news. Just You has 11-day Christmas and New Year trips to Malta and the Costa Brava from £3,099, and Christmas in Porto with New Year on the Lisbon Coast from £3,399. Friendship Travel’s Casa Rosa runs a separate New Year house party, and it has a New Year reading holiday on the island of Malta. That’s a week of books, sunshine and good conversation, which sounds like a fine way to start the year!
How to pick your festive trip
Think about how much Christmas you want. A UK house party is all crackers, paper hats and pantomimes, while a Christmas market break gives you festive atmosphere without the full turkey. Winter sun is for anyone who’d rather forget the whole thing and read by a pool.

- What’s the cancellation charge if plans change?

What about Page & Moy?
Older guides, including the first version of this page, pointed readers to Page & Moy for Christmas tours to Austria and Egypt. The Page & Moy tour operator brand was phased out in 2012 and 2013, according to Travel Weekly. Travelsphere has since brought the name back as a premium range, but its first tours don’t leave until autumn 2027, so there’s no Page & Moy Christmas this year. Questions about Christmas on your own
Will I be the only person there on my own?
No. On Just You, Solos, Friendship Travel, GoSingles and One Traveller trips everyone is travelling solo, so you’ll all be meeting each other for the first time.
Do I have to join in with everything?
No. The meals and parties are there if you want them, and nobody minds if you skip the disco for an early night.
What’s the cheapest festive break for singles?
Of the trips we checked, GoSingles’ Twixmas break for over 50s started from £269 and Friendship Travel’s two nights in Coventry from £495. Prices were correct in October 2026.
Is there a single supplement at Christmas?
Not on most of the trips here. Just You, Solos and One Traveller don’t charge one, and the Friendship Travel and GoSingles breaks listed include a room for sole use.
When should I book?
As early as you can. Christmas departures are the first to sell out, and some UK house parties were full or close to full by October.
